Brian S. Schiller
Brian Schiller, co-founder and partner of Schiller McMahon, provides dedicated and comprehensive representation for individuals who have been harmed/injured in the areas of civil litigation and personal injury. Mr. Schiller also devotes a substantial amount of his practice to defending individuals charged with DUI and minor criminal offenses. In these capacities, Mr. Schiller enjoys a sizeable and diverse caseload as he strives to be one of the rare attorneys who can turn his hand to, and experience success in, many legal disciplines.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Schiller gained valuable trial experience as an Assistant Prosecutor in Union County, New Jersey. It was at that time that Mr. Schiller met Joshua McMahon, where the two served on the same trial team in 2012 before the Honorable Joseph P. Donohue, J.S.C. During his short tenure as an Assistant Prosecutor, he tried over twenty-five cases to verdict and boasted a remarkable conviction rate.
Since fulfilling his public duty representing the citizens of the state of New Jersey, Mr. Schiller has transitioned his focus to the representation of victims throughout the state in the civil arena. Mr. Schiller employs a strategic, creative and comprehensive approach tailored to achieve success for his clients on a case-by-case basis. He is well known for his dedication to success and client satisfaction. In fact, he has formed many friendships with his clients as a result of his hard work and desire to achieve justice on their behalf.
Since the firm’s inception in April of 2015, Mr. Schiller has been instrumental in obtaining over $10,000,000 in settlements and verdicts for the firm’s clientele. His most recent success stories include a $1,785,000 sexual harassment settlement and $1,750,000 sexual assault verdict/settlement.
The accomplishment that Mr. Schiller is most proud of, however, is his involvement in the investigation and prosecution of a former Secaucus and Elizabeth Board of Education teacher, who groomed and sexually abused dozens of middle school students from 1980-2004. Mr. Schiller has worked tirelessly since 2013 to obtain justice for several young men who were victimized by this teacher, including conducting investigation that spanned for several years into this teacher, which he later turned over to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, and which lead to an indictment, guilty plea, and the disgraced teacher being sentenced to prison. As a result of his work on these matters, the statute of limitations to file lawsuits for sexual assault was relaxed substantially, allowing individuals who were sexually abused as children to obtain the justice that they deserve later in life.
Each year since 2015, Mr. Schiller has been chosen as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, a feat earned by less than 2.5% of the attorneys in New Jersey. In April of 2016, Mr. Schiller received his Supreme Court Certification as a Criminal Trial Attorney in the state of New Jersey.
