Judge throws out Linden drug case, says officer ‘grossly negligent’

ELIZABETH — Saying police officers were “grossly negligent,” a Superior Court Judge has thrown out the indictment of a man who Linden officers arrested with what authorities say was a stockpile of drugs.

Judge Joseph Donohue granted a motion Tuesday from defense attorney Joshua McMahon, who argued that police filed differing and multiple reports of the incident, and failed to preserve a dash camera video when they arrested Arrend Santiago on March 18, 2014 following a car stop.
